I (Angie Brewster) obtained a Master’s of Science degree in Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University. I am a Professional Counselor Intern in the State of Idaho, awaiting final licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I am certified as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through NBCC, the National Board for Certified Counselors. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Idaho Counseling Association (ICA).
I concentrate on mental health wellness for children and their families. I have extensivetraining and experience working with children who struggle emotionally, behaviorally and socially.
We will explore, identify and set goals to create an environment that fosters active participation in the counseling process through exploration of feelings, personal history, attitudes, beliefs, developmental needs, communication,self-expression, emotional regulationand awareness. I use a variety of treatment approachesincludingPlay therapy, Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Adlerian therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused therapy. I have training and utilize trauma-informed therapy when necessary.
