I (Erin Fischer) am a Licensed Professional Counselor (License #: LPC-3140) in the State of Idaho. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). Prior to receiving a Master’s in Counseling from Boise State University, I worked in the Nampa School District for two years and am currently employed by the West Ada School District, where I have worked since 2006 as a school counselor. I enjoy working with
children and families and helping each person tell their story from a client centered approach. I believe that problem-solving is a collaborative effort, in which communication is key for all participants involved—child and family together. Before becoming a counselor, I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Latvia, Eastern Europe from 1997 to 1999, where I taught English as a foreign language to high school students. The relationships I developed as a Volunteer, working with youth, inspired me to become a counselor. I enjoy working with children and families and helping each person tell his/her own story from a Client-Centered approach. I believe that problem-solving is a collaborative effort, in which communication is key for all participants involved--child and family together. Change is hard, but it is possible.
