I (Heather Allum) obtained a Master’s of Social Work degree from Boston University School of Social Work. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (License #: LMSW-36158) in the state of Idaho. I completed my undergraduate training in psychology with an emphasis on early childhood intervention. I have training in a variety of mental health and social work areas, including suicide prevention, family systems and general social work theory.
I enjoy working with individuals and families. I work from a Solution Focused Strength Based approach to counseling. I also draw heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques as well as Systems Theory Techniques. I think it is important to tailor the intervention and approach to each client’s needs, and therefore study numerous clinical evidence based interventions to ensure I can meet my client’s unique needs.
