Hello, my name is Jace! I have had green hair for four years and I am a Social Work intern completing my Masters in Social Work from Boise State University. I plan to go on and get clinical licensure after I graduate. I have a Bachelor’s in social work. My prior experience includes working with kids, victims of sexual violence and stalking, and with those who have physical and intellectual disabilities as well as with neurodivergent folx.
I am a military brat. Both my parents were in the Air Force and I travelled with them as they were deployed around the world. I was able to join in and appreciate many different cultures. As a result of these experiences, I developed an interest in working with various populations. I find myself directing my time and attention to Neurodivergence, Sex and Sexuality/Gender, and Interpersonal Relationships, but I want to work with all clients. I utilize a Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) approach and draw from Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Relational, and Motivational Interviewing as well. I believe the foundation of the work we will do together is getting to know and accept one’s self and use this foundation of self understanding to craft interventions. I work with my clients to identify solutions to problems brought up in therapy. I have developed many skills over my time in schooling and practice. It is my job to impart what will be helpful and sustainable to you. I believe the client knows best what will and will not work for them. It is my job to collaborate with you to achieve your goals.
