I ( Jennifer Seegmiller) obtained a Bachelor of Science, Sociology degree from Brigham Young University Idaho as well as a Master of Arts, Marriage and Family therapy degree from the California School of Professional Psychology through Alliant International University (2020). I am a registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (Registration # MFTI-7908) in the state of Idaho. I am also a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), including the Idaho chapter.
I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life, and have a particular interest in children, families and communication strategies. I have facilitated parenting groups as well as creating and facilitating teen groups. I have experience in treating trauma in women and children who have experienced homelessness, domestic violence, and substance use disorders. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral approach and draw mostly from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused techniques, and mindfulness based interventions. I am always looking for opportunities to expand my learning and to build my skill set.
