D. Marie Breton obtained a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology degree from Simpson University as well as a Master of Arts, Counseling Psychology degree from National University (2012). I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Idaho. I am also a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family
Therapists (AAMFT) and former member of California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life, and have a particular interest in couples, families and parenting strategies. I have experience and a passion for treating trauma in adults and children who have experienced violent crime, first responders, and medical personnel, including those experiencing struggles with drug and alcohol abuse related to their trauma. I work from a cognitive behavioral approach and draw mostly from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy/TF CBT and EMDR techniques, Experiential Therapy techniques, and Neurolinguistic Programming techniques. I do incorporate other modalities when appropriate and am always looking for opportunities to expand my learning and to build my skill set. |
